Heavy type hex mesh can be made into rock gabions in forms of baskets, containers or mattresses. Gabion Baskets are foldable rectangular mesh units, fabricated from a double-twisted hexagonal mesh. Gabions are divided into cells with diaphragms (usually spaced at 1 meter or 3' intervals), whose function is to reinforce the structure. The mesh (except for the diaphragms) is reinforced on all edges with wires of a larger diameter to strengthen the gabions and facilitate the assembly and installation. The flexible mesh containers are filled with rocks at the project site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures of retaining walls, channel linings and weirs for erosion control projects. We also supply welded mesh gabions with collapsible structures, available in galvanized steel mesh baskets and plastic coated welded mesh stone containers.
Gabions Materials and Treatment Options:
1. Electro galv. Gabion box
2. Common Hot-dipped galv. Gabion box, Zinc coated about 50g/m2
3.Heavy Hot-dipped galv. Gabion box, Zinc coating complies to ASTM-A641-1998 & EN 10244-2
4.PVC coated gabions meeting Standard ASTM A975 & EN 10245-2
5, Galfan wire
Wire Choosing for Gabion Mattress:
The steel wire used in the manufacture of the heavy chicken wire is heavily zinc coated wire or Galfan wire. In order to reinforce the structure, all mesh panel edges are selvedged with a wire with a more strong diameter than the mesh wire. Usually selvage wire is one gauge thicker than the body wire diameter. The heavy hex wire is divided into cells by means of diaphragms positioned at approximately 1m centre.
The gabion wire diameter thickness depends on the mesh size, the dia. Is between 2.0mm to 4.0mm if the material is zinc coated, while the dia will be 3.0mm to 4.5mm if the material is PVC-coated wire.
Metal Wire Gabion Baskets Made with thick wire, suitable for loading of rocks, flexible and permeable elements from which a broad range of structures may be built.
Powder Coated Woven Mesh Mattresses, with Strong Selvedge, for Controlling of Flood: Gabion mattresses and boxes are widely used for hydraulic and geo- technical control such as retaining walls, riverbank protections, weirs, channel linings etc.
Gabion mat strength lies in their double twisted hexagonal mesh of steel wire
which is reinforced by selvedges of heavier wire running along the edges;
The base section is divided into compartments to restrict the movement of stone and strengthen the structure;
The lid is supplied as a separate panel;
The wire will not unravel even when cut;
Assembly is easy, requiring no specialized labor and nearby rock is used for fill;
Free drainage and 30-35% voids allow vegetation to grow.
·Control and guide of water or flood;
· Preventing of rock breaking;
· Rock fall protection netting ;
· Water and soil protection mattress;
· Bridge protection;
· Strengthening structure of soil;
· Protection engineering of seaside area;
· Port project;
· Keep off dust wall;
· Roadway protection.

Galvanized Steel Welded Mesh Gabions Retaining Wall:
Welded steel gabions are made of high tensile wire coated with a thick corrosion-resistant layer of zinc. The wire is also available with a tough, durable PVC coating. The use of high quality materials results in a longer, more reliable gabion life. Welded Wire Mesh Gabions are made from electric welded wire mesh panels connected by spirals/helicals assembled with spacers/stiffeners.
The gabions in cells are faster to erect for construction and do not need tensioning. This allows them to keep their shape, to be free from bulges and depressions and fit easily against the wall. Stones are put into it to make it a solid unit that can be easily used in many areas: river banks, retaining walls, yards, garden and so on.
The welded gabion is heavy zinc coating, with high anti-rust, can be used many years.
